I'm still very much in the early learning process of learning the sounds and noises of windmills

Hopefully this video posted, but is this noise normal when the pump rod is coming down? Would extra weight on it make it go away?

I'm not an expert but sounds like worn gears. As in too much play in the gears. Did you rebuild the gearbox? If so did the gears have wear on them. Again I'm no expert but that's just my opinion.

It was a rebuilt unit from Dakota Windmill in Hurley, SD.

Now that I look at it, it does look like it's wobbling.

Here is a video with a better angle of the hub. I don’t think its the hub.

You might send the 1st video back to Dakota and see what they think it might be. I just know it's not normal.

Okay, I will call them again tomorrow. I called them today and they thought maybe the yoke was binding up on the hoop since it was all new. Requested I go up and pour a little oil all over the top to help the oiler ring start out. Did that, didn't seem to make difference. Nothing seems to be binding up there. While I was up there again, main gears looked aligned, and everything looked good to my eyes but I don't 100% for sure know what i'm looking for.

Just happens on the down stroke.

Matt the bottom line is something not right. If it was me I'd ask them to fix or replace it, it's only right.
