Flint & Walling Steel Star

Post by 63markB »

I’ve gotten started on the rebuild. Made some of the smaller shafts and bored some of the egged shaped holes and made bushings to bring them back to size. Put a little primer and paint on it and got the babbitt melted out of the main frame.

Very nice Mark. If that is an 8 ft., could I get the measurements for the counterweight? And how much it weighs? And the length of the pipe?
Looks like you are going to finish yours before I do.
I have had to put mine on hold for now. Life is getting in the way! Looks great Mark.

Yes Kenneth, I will be glad to. I will try to get some good measurements today and try to get the weight.

I’m afraid mine is going to slow to a crawl thought, I need a new bull and pinion gear and I’m waiting on those to be cast and machined. They are suppose to be ready in early spring.

Thanks for the compliments, and if you need anything that I can help with I will always be glad to help.
