Happy New Year!

Standard Axtell

Generally speaking, this area is for general discussion about windmills, in most cases.

Hmm, are those white blades that have just turned that green color? It doesn't look like the vane did, I wonder if those are FM Eclipse sections? I didn't think the old lead paint did that as bad as the modern stuff? Thanks for the post.

Wasn''t Eclipse dark green with blood red tips? Didn't Fred copy the colors too? I think he inproved the bearings, but stayed mostly the same on the rest.
Call Dan Benjamin for parts. P M me for the phone number. IF YOU TALK TO HIM, AND HE HELPS YOU, THEN BUY FROM HIM. IT CREATES GOOD KARMA.

I have seen Standard heads with both Hyatte roller bearings and the common babbit. Even in my common babbit head it had a funky upper guide that apparently was made for better lubrication, maybe it was a later one, I don't know? The original Axtell Salesman Sample that sold here locally a few years ago was certainly white with red trim. and was in near mint condition. Oddly enough, I got a wedding invitation from Fred Axtell's Great, Great Grand Neice yesterday. I think I said that right, her Great, Great grandfather was his brother?

White is all I've ever seen. Looks like the vane is probably new and they don't know there was an Eclipse and an Axtell. Why are the wheel sections painted and the vane unpainted?
