Because years ago a famous decorator used one on a TV show and ever since the wheel is the only important piece to a windmill and only for decorating. The antique and other shops buy up mills take the fans and tails scrap the rest, and they don't care about the actual mill.

So it's a yuppie thing? What a waste of a windmill.
Re: started another
YEP! I met a lady with a booth at Canton First Monday Trade Days. She sold windmill related stuff. When I bought my 12 ft Axtell Ever-oil the blades where to far gone to use. I took my plasma cutter and cut a windmill out on them. She bought everyone I did. I had 24 blades. She would buy any thing I wanted to sell. When I bought my Pipe-Raymond the wheel was made out of cedar. I wanted cypress. I sold her the cedar sections, they never had been installed, where still pretty.

trying out an idea using wooden spool ends as a base under the pump . have not dug the hole for the 55 gallon drum yet so just experimenting to see how long this may last ,
