You can put me in line for your information as soon as you get it published, I have been looking for clean images for years but memo graphs of memographs are pretty hard to read. As far as I can tell, the only Bell Hubs were 12 and 16. I have seen a light weight looking hub that I believe predates the bell on a parts list but not sure they were ever made. I believe that is correct about the 1899 being the first 14 but it doesn't seem like many were made. Anyway, your book will be a very helpful resource, I may have to sell a kidney to buy it but I am sure it will be worth it!

K.R.B. Aermoter first mill made in 1888 had a spyder hub and same with the 1889. Then sometime in 1890 they changed the Hub to a Bell Hub up to 1897.Also they made a Bell Hub in 1897 with glass oilers. Then the 1898model was the only one with roller bearings. Then came the model 1899, then the 1903-1905 ,then the R.A.came until 1915

Dan, No wonder Google didn't know what I was asking about when I punched in "K.R.B. Aermotor"! Also a question for you, it seems like you run into much earlier machines than here in MN, I'm going to be looking for the right grease cups/oilers for the Power Aer. Have any spares for sale?

I guess I'm confused by the illustrations in the 1900 Power Aermotor Catalog. Mine has the hinged flap like the illustration on the right and the picture on the left looks like it has oilers or grease cups.

Great, since your such a good source of information, was the glass oilers like the glass ones the Iron Turbine used? I saw it in the catalog but have never seen one in real life? Is there any known examples of the early hub? Was that the era before galvanized sheet metal or when did they end the painted mills? I assume they were the red color the small model in Lubbock is? Thanks for your information.

K.R.B. The model 1897 that had the glass oilers only came in a 10 ft model I've only seen one a guy in dutches county owns it i don't know if it's the glass oilers are the same as the Iron Turbine.I don't know if the 1888 and 1889 models were painted they were on tilting wooden towers.the first steel towers were painted and in 1892 they started galvanized towers.I was told that some guy has a original mill and is the only one known.I have one of the first transition mills from the spyder hub to the Bell Hub which took the vertical spring and the original tailvane and wheel with cast iron sail ties.
