Thanks guys!! Bob i believe i have enough parts to go by to make the wheel.The tailvane and tailbone are similar to DANDY. Yes Wayne the brake assembly is similar to a DANDY.

Wonder what was their reason to build it. It basically is just a reconfigured Dandy. What market were they thinking they would get?

Wayne it was manufactured in honor of their late president Thomas Snow only for a short time i guess out of respect probably!!

A lot of those old Challenge mills had the same tail and wheel. Bet those Snow mills are pretty rare.

The Book says at one time Challenge had 107 different mills in production. Wow what a collection that would be today!

Very fortunate to have collected such unique & nice windmills , you did have to build a good barn to protect then during the northern harsh winters .

Your Dandy looks to be an early one with the narrow gears like I put up at Pioneer Village. Oh yeah they named me Historian of the year of 2022 for donating and putting the Dandy up. That and $3.25 I can get a cup of coffee. I'm glad more people can see it. It has been a big hit so far lots of good comments.

Thanks Mike for all the compliments much Appreciated. Wayne I think it is an earlier DANDY but not the first ones they had a tailvane similar to early Monitor.And congratulations on your award. Hopefully I can get more people interested in windmills up here my barn will be open to whoever wanders in. I'm just great full i have the people on the forum to share them with.Dan!!
