this is the latest project I have started , today is day 1
Notice stamped date on the flat spot ?
maybe 1923
inside of case is dried grease & dirt , but checking the bearings it does not seem to be worn out ?
Maybe I wont need to pour babbitt in this one .

Pay special attention to the oil passages. They are most likely clogged, even if it doesn't need poured.

The box of "stuff'" that came out of the B602 weighted about 8 lbs . Amazing that much dust & dirt made its way inside to mix with the oil !
Fortunatly it did not wear the babbitt too much , no new bearings poured , just LOTS of cleaning .
Reassmbly has started , note lubriplate on all the wear surfaces till motor is up and proper red ATF is installed .

This 1923 Aermotor B602 is starting to proform better ,
1st question , how many qts of 10 wt oil in a "B" model ?
the attached photo shows the rements of the factory stencil instructions on oil level and change intervals , a but hard to read after 100 years .

Not sure mike. A rule that I go by is, if unsure, fill to halfway up to the big gear shaft. Not halfway up the whole gear, just halfway up to the shaft. It's like a quarter of the whole gear.
