Helping hand from Illinois

Post by Windcatcher530 Dan »

This last storm we got was a doosey. Finally got my power restored and got talking to the lineman they're company and him are from Illinois i thought that was crazy. I thought he would be upset having to come all that way to help out but explained to me once they hit the NY border his pay doubles and told me he never saw a more beautiful state.I suppose if you grew up here you don't realize it apperantly.

Yes they make "good" money when repairing storm damage , but , you also pay higher utility bills to cover those expenses , so .......

Some of the lineman that is all thy do is chase storms and make very good money doing that.
When thy are on storm restoration thy do 16 hour days.
When I was working for the City we sent 3 guys to Orlando Florida when one of the hurricanes moved through there. Thy were gone for a week and a half or 2 weeks.
