200 watt wincharger tower stub Q

Generally speaking, this area is for general discussion about vintage wind generators, in most cases.

200 watt wincharger tower stub Q

Post by EarthQuaker »

Building a stub portion to fit existing 1978 200 watt wincharger. The generator part is a 1 inch steel pipe. If i fit it into 1 1/4" pipe of home built tower stub part...seems too sloppy. Was a type of bronze bushing used or just go with the 3/16" play/ wiggle.

Your generator pipe should be std 1” pipe and measure 1.3130 OD. The 1-1/4” schedule 40 ID should be 1.380” giving you about 1/32” radial clearance. Those are nominal dimensions and some seem tighter probably because they swell when they get rusty. Could be your mast pipe was changed at some point.
