Dempster No. 4 Vaneless Windmill Project Completed

Post by JBarker »

Hello,

We wanted to post some pics of our completed windmill project in Edom, TX. Our client purchased this windmill in 2017 at the Windmill Fair. It sat in his barn for a few years until 2022 when he asked us to complete the project. It's been a long and exhausting process but very rewarding. Our client had the tower and water tank installed before we installed the steel stub and motor/sails. I want to thank the following individuals that helped us with parts and their knowledge of helping us restore this windmill. We couldn't have done it without them: Thank you to my wife, windmill partner and crew member Mary Barker. A big thank you to Dan Benjamin, Windmills R Us, for providing most of the missing parts and his willingness to help guide us on completing the restoration. His friendship and experience are invaluable on a huge project like this. Thank you to Chris Diedrichsen, Lake Seldom Living Windmills, in supplying the stub tower parts. Thank you to Kevin Moore, Rock Ridge Windmills, for helping me with questions about the Dempster windmill. Thank you all on this forum!

Jerry Barker

sorry the pics are sideways, just click on the photo and it will open up correctly.

That looks awesome, what a great job you should be proud. Did you also do the restore of the water tank?

No sir, I meant to say the client had the wooden tower and water tower installed before we did our part. We had to install the steel stub tower and motor. The client made the water tower out of a hay ring and used boards on the side. Thank you.

A Dempster I saw on my trip to the Hill Country. It needs some TLC. Has a nice Aermotor hand pump under it.

Jerry I must say that you have come a long long way since a few years ago. Seems to me you have gained 'expert' status. Quite a feather in your cap.
Call Dan Benjamin for parts. P M me for the phone number.
