# legged Aermotor

Generally speaking, this area is for general discussion about windmills, in most cases.

This windmill is at the LBJ State Park living history farm. The people selling Aermotors 'back then did a good job of selling 3 legged towers. I saw several while driving around the country side.

I always heard a 3 legged tower engineered higher wind than a four legged tower?

Dan , thanks for posting the official Aermotor page .
There advertising stated 3 & 4 legged tower are equal in strength , 3 legged angles are thicker material .
I like my 3 legged tower .

I had an old man once that thought he was an Aermotor expert tell me Aermotor didn't build 3 legged towers, after I told him I had one. I saw it was a waist of time to try and change his mind. Story I was told was that if you bought a 3 legged tower other farmers would figure you didn't have the money to buy a real 4 legged tower or you were too cheap.
