Cool mill! I've only seen one of those around my area. Tried to beg borrow, buy or swipe it. LOL He wouldn't budge. It wasn't even working.
Call Dan Benjamin for parts. P M me for the phone number.

Looks great Michael! I agree that the gearbox is easy to work with.

The 6.5' AirFlow was our first mill, so I'm partial to them.

I’m going to be taking one of these down off its tower in a few weeks. Is it okay to lift on its “hoop” like an Aermotor or how does one lift the whole mill?

The Airflow hoop is not as hardy as an Aermotor hoop as the Airflow hoop top and hoop bottom are held in by set screws. So there is potential for failure of a set screw; which on mine also had safety wires as in my photo. I say “set screws”, they could have been true bolts. However, I never loosened/removed them during my rebuild as I didn’t have a need to.

To play it safe, I’d probably use a web strap and weave it around the gearbox/hub and then lift.

From memory, remove the: 1) chain to the tailbone, 2) pump rod and the 3) mast pipe pump rod guide below the storm stay, then you could lift it up. The ball bearings in the turntable might want to fall out during the lift.

I can confirm that they are set screws.
