New Old Stock Challenge 27

Generally speaking, this area is for general discussion about windmills, in most cases.

Great find Dan…..how old is that mill and what’s your plan for it? Do you leave it in the crate or assemble and display? I ask because I’ve had similar dilemmas with windchargers. I think NOS windmills still in crate are a lot less common. How is the historic value best preserved?

My preference would be to figure out how to presereve it in the box and display at the same time . It's priceless as is .
This is my opinion and I'm sticking with it .

Mike I'm not sure if it's better left in the crate or not I'm sure someone on the forum knows. I've had several barn finds but none in the crate. That Mill was produced from 1927 to 1941.

Did you find it in your “hopeful hunt” barn you mentioned a week or more back. Or a different location?

Would be a tough decision to preserve in crate and display as NOS or erect it.

Wow what a find. Congratulations!

To keep crated or assemble. I'd assemble and keep the crating.
