New Castle

I saw this one off of US 380 west of New Castle, TX, just after you cross over the Brazos River heading west. I don't know what it is about old farm houses and windmills, but I will always stop and get a picture.

Monitor's first self -oiling windmill. Commonly called' Hambone" due to the case shape. So heavy it could be used for an anchor for the USS Ronald Reagan aircraft carrier.

Neat photo.
I was sort of wondering if someone is still paying the electric bill for that security light since there is a transformer and meter there.

Traveling with my Mama back a few years ago. When I'd point out an old tractor or windmill, she would ask how do you see those things when you are supposed to be driving. I told her they had a magnetic force that draw me to them.
