I saw this for sale online and while I’m not interested in purchasing it, I’m curious at the make or if it is homemade.
Description per the listing:
Self propel wind mill...needs bearings asking 1000 or best offer ..you must come remove it from building

That small motor housing sure does look like a bevel gear shell for a power mill

Thank you for the replies.
It was listed for $1k in Plainview, TX if anyone is interested.
It does have some characteristics of a power mill once ya’ll pointed it out. I have never seen a power mill in Texas, but for what is in the museum.

The square block building under the tower is also odd , would love to know what is inside , that may answer a lot of questions as to the mill .

Leffel did wheel arms similar to that design but the hub and main frame dose not resemble it at all. Almost has a European look to it.

Thanks for reminding me what manufacturer made a wheel like that Darrin. A little research the Springfield Machine Co.succeeded E.C.Leffel windmills and continued selling the Leffel windmill and even made POWER mills for at least five years in the late 1800s.

Could it have used cloth sails rather than wood or metal blades?

Very interesting! Would be great to get better pictures of it. It looks custom or foreign.
