Here is some info. Check the pinion gears. they are pinned to the shaft....

Windy Bob a favor, would it be possible to take a pic of your open gear FM Hub. You said you believe it's the first one I'm going to look at one over the weekend i know what the 95 looks like hoping this is the Beloit model. Thanks!!

If you did mean this one, I had no hub for it, so I used an early 602 hub. The original had a tapered brake surface to match the brake shoe me thinks.

On a post a while back a new member posted a picture of his 1905 open gear Fairbanks Morse and you thought yours was earlier that's the one I would like a picture of. Thanks

oh ok. Yes I think it's an original Fairbanks. Let me see what I can do. I've not started working it over yet. I think there is a difference in the shafts, one has shafts in line, and one doesn't. Or something like that.

Ok thanks Bob yours is the early model before the 1905 model. I forgot your model has the vertical spring.Now i know what the early hub looks like I'll know what I'm hoping to buy. Thanks again !!
