Hi all, this is a chain drive Steel King single pitman mill made by Goold Shapley & Muir. I restored this mill for the museum in Lubbock. I'm also restoring Paul's double pitman Steel King, it was more complete than this one so we were able to get most of the missing parts recast that we needed. As far as I know these two are the only ones ever found, they where manufactured around 1898. The first two pics is what the head looked like and what was usable.

Now THAT is one awesome mill! What a job! EXCELLENT!

If I saw the remains of that in a pile, I would not know it's a mill. I would skip right over it.

You guys up north of the border really do some great work!

looks good, Hey i thought mine was suppose to be finished first...........shesh........lol
wasnt much of a mill to start out with, think someone used some old bed frame angle iron, and someone broke the ears off the hub...... oh and lost the tail.... Al would be proud of that one
