I lost one of the drain plug bolts from my Fairbanks Morse WG. Square end, about 1/2” diameter, apparently uses a proprietary thread pattern.
Does anyone know where I can get a replacement or where I can match the thread with a new bolt? I live in the middle of nowhere so I can’t run down to the big city to get one.

Usually those plugs are standard pipe thread on windmill gear boxes.

I bought two from HomeDepot for my Baker Monitor WC rebuilt. They are typically common, like Dan said.

Well egg on my face! You boys jogged my mind and I realized it's just a tiny pipe plug, not a bolt! Now I've got two new galvanized ones that match perfect and I feel a bit sheepish.

Don't worry about it. The mistakes I've made makes yours look like a raging success.
Call Dan Benjamin for parts. P M me for the phone number. IF YOU TALK TO HIM, AND HE HELPS YOU, THEN BUY FROM HIM. IT CREATES GOOD KARMA.
