I have this windmill on the work table as I received it. I removed thebottom cap and pullout tube. I could not get the pump rod to slide out of the pullout tube. I discovered the chain had broke and got wedged inside the pullout tube between the pumprod and the inner pullout tube. I ended up having to split the tube 3/4 down to relieve the chain. What a cluster! See pics. The piece of chain by itself is what was wedged in the tube.

Today I made a new mast pipe for this mill. I am doing this mill for a guy that doesn't know much about mills.

Mike I do not know anybody by the name Sledge. I moved here in 1995. I grew up in north houston, Aldine area. Boy how things have changed over there. Wouldn't want to live there now.
