Just poured these. (2) 6 ft. (2) 8ft. Didn't know what I was doing. But they came out nice.

you might sand those flush to the (circle) housing. If they are too tall, the holding pin won't allow a cotter pin to go through. Looks good though. I made fixtures for those, and could stand and pour those all day long. lol

Looks good. You have any photos of your process/set up?
Those X pitman arms are cute, if a windmill part could ever be called cute.
I have poured probably 4 pair and it is fun to know if you mess up (assuming you don’t burn yourself) that it is easy to repour and fix.

Windy, I will dress them next. But thanks for your suggestion.
CTXmiller, I machined 2 mandrels. 1 for 6ft. and 1 for 8ft.

I then put 2 rods in the upper holes to keep them parrarel to the bottom bosses.

I then put a "C" clamp on them to hold them together.

On the 8 ft. I put a hose clamp with a piece of brass shim stock around the bosses to cover the open area.

Then it was just a matter using babbit rite on the outer part where the mandrel comes through. I stood it upright in a vise and poured on the inside.
Not sure if this is the right way, but this is how I poured them.

Kenneth,
Impressive, looks great and it worked great.
I’ll share how I did it, once I find my photos.

Umm, more trimming needs to happen. This has been brought up before.
The area that is all babbitt between the knobs of cast on the main gear side of the pitman needs removed. All pitman arms 8’ and larger have this. Original Chicago and current aftermarket pitmans don’t have this area filled with babbitt to allow better lubrication. It has the same function as the voids on each side of the 752 also shown.
You can build jigs so this area doesn’t receive babbitt or machine off the excess babbitt as most aftermarkets do.

Thanks Ron. I couldn't remember what the originals looked like. I will work on that.
