The Taco Windmill

Most days are pretty uneventful. Get up, have coffee, go to work, have more coffee, stare at the windmill on the stand, have more coffee, But some days God has a special surprise waiting for me outside. He let's me know just how big He is. Well it doesn't matter where we live in this Country we're all subject to the weather. Some of us may have it worse than others, be it cold, rain, snow or wind. As windmillers wind is our friend most of the time. We wouldn't or couldn't exist if it weren't for this beautiful invisible thing called Wind. Some days though it comes down like a truck and knocks down whatever is in it's way. Just like the one that came crashing through the fence a coupe of months ago (that's a story for another time). There's probably nothing worse than pulling up to see a damaged windmill. As horrible as it is it's still a little awesome to see just how destructive wind can be. I guess there's really never a dull moment out here because there's always windmills to work on or re-work on.

That is impressive. Looking at the pictures, it doesn't look like a single broken blade??

No, there were no broken blades. It is hard to see it in the pictures, but there was only one broken arm. Also the reason it folded over so easily is because the rims are made out of plastic. After I re-made an arm it was very easy to fasten the wheel back to the broken arm. I also had to repair a couple of the metal brace arms, but that was too bad.
