This tower is one of the very first steel Aermoter towers . It originally had one of my Bell Hub Mills on it. The tower came unpainted and with the turnbuckles on the X braces. Only one I've ever seen. It now has a 602 nestled on top and painted through the years.

How i know Bob is the farm it came from i was shown a photo of it with my Bell Hub on it with a date. If you see a Aermoter tower and it has cast iron pegs for a ladder it's the first ones made or the cast turn buckles your really lucky. !!

Ok,, so the footpegs were cast, and not steel? or did they start with cast, and then go to steel? I have some old Aermotor steps, but they are not the pegs, they are the cross steps, like the old Monitor steps.

Those cross steps came after the peg steps but are still early before the hoop ladder came into play around 1899 !!

I found an old Aermotor tower with the pegs on property my Great Grandpa bought in 1900. I figure my Grandma drank water from that well. Tried to make contact and buy it but never got any response.
