Beatty pumper spokes

I recently won the bid on an 8ft Beatty pumper. There were no spokes, only the stubs left in the hub. I managed to dig them out and cleaned
up the threads to usable condition. I bought 6 spokes from a fellow Alberta forum member. The price was right but turns out the threaded ends
were too badly damaged to use. I cut off 2 inches and plan to splice on like 3/4 inch galvanized pipe. I have threaded the inside of the spokes
with a 7/8 inch tap to a depth of 2 1/4 inches. I all threaded about 30 inches of 1/2 inch rigid conduit pipe that I will use as splicing material
cut into 4 1/4 inch pieces to tie the spoke and the 2 inch replacement ends. Before I cut the short pieces I pipe thread outside and thread the
the inside about 2 1/4 inches deep to accept the threaded splicing pipe. All the threading is better done with the 3/4 inch pipe clamped in
a pipe vice. My method used to adding the new ends is to avoid welding. The joint s will not show as they will be inside the hub.
All this brings me to asking the question as what is the measurement from the hub pipe hole shoulder and the inside of the ell that is
welded to the spoke used to secure the inner wheel arm? By looking at the used spokes there are discolorized marks at 12 & 1/2 inch mark
which probably is where the spoke entered the hub. Would be nice to know before I assemble the wheel. The rods could threaded to the
wrong depth and could affect assembly. Just my thought.
Any help with the measurement would be greatly appreciated. Not going to erect this year but would like to get ahead for next hear.
Thanks,
Joe
PS: I got this mill, perfect sails and vane. Gears not worn. Tower not useable. Price $600.00 Another a couple of years ago went for $1000.00
I saw a beat up Beatty wheel and rusted out hub sell for $600.00 just last week. I had planned to bid on it to get the spokes

Thanks Peter for clearing that up. Now I can go ahead with making the spokes. Photo Also shows the placement of the inner rim.

No harvest yet, not till October, severe drought here this year, hardly any rain all summer. The driest I have seen it since I've been living here.
