An old boy recently gave me this mill. Sadly it is missing the tail but I suspect it to be Challenge. It has 4 sails to the section and was originally painted green at some point. 8 bolts hold the hood on which I’ve never seen before. Looks like a 6 or 5.5 footer. Any help on make and model will help me get this old girl running again!

Thanks a lot! Now to find or rebuild two sections of the wheel and get a tailbone found for it. Sounds like one heck of a challenge if you ask me. It very much is. I think finding one for this mill is going to be pretty difficult. Might have better luck building one to be honest.

I think they only made them for a couple years. That's why parts are hard to get. I think that's the one where the hub is independant of the mainshaft. The hub runs on it's own bearings?

Comes apart fairly easy. Cone style bearings.

Any idea on how to get the nose cone off before I break something? Got the 3 bolts loose without twisting them off so I would call that a win

From what I hear that is the truth. They made them from ‘39 to ‘43 I believe.
