Sorry if this is redundant, I did a search but did not find the answer,
has anyone successfully replaced the brake band on an "installed" A702 or would the band be so distorted by the time it was stretched enough to go around the housing to make it unworkable?

You don't need to distort it too much. But yes, some. It is not spring steel. You can tweak it once it's on. My headache has always been the bolts too close to the hub.
