Setting up an A902 on a 40FT tower for a friend

Post by Joshschneids »

My old Neighbour ( before i moved) a good friend of mine in southern Ontario planted 10 acres of trees and had a pond that needed to be filled in drought conditions so he opted for a brand new 40 foot tower and windmill. Thanks to Harvey Kuntz for referring him and helping him get all organized with a pump and a new mill from the Mennonites he deals with. Mill came from american west windmill co. Anyways thought i would share some pics. Went a little overkill on concrete and everything but she will be strong. Dry well for the 3 way pump. Josh

Be curious if that was a Mennonite sourced wheel as I have never seen sail ribs & ties like that? Nothing like that is shown on American West' website and I have never run across anything like that.

Josh, we know you mean 702.

Ron, the last few Aermotor wheels I made, I used modified Dempster clips. Looks a lot like that one.

Peter, that is not a hot dipped wheel. I though factory wheels were.

Hey Ron, i think it possibly is. The tail vane seems to have the same rivets that look like they could be “Mennonite” done too. Every part says FIASA on it.

It does say A902 on the side of the case actually. It apparently is a american west modified 702. Different hub and replaceable parts inside.

The 902 gearbox you can see the bolt in Main Frame that you can remove with three bolts. Tail sheet metal looks like it could be mennonite done also. No pictures of the front of the hub but the design is different.
