Question on feathering the 1903 RA Aremotor

Not sure how the tailed is pulled in, well better said with what?
I will attach a picture here which of course I swiped from the internet. ( Thanks to the owner)
I'm assuming you use a cable because I have a 100 year old winder. (Rope or cable)
But the picture shows a metal rod. How long is it? Is it bent?
Does this control line need a swivel? To counteract the mills rotation?

Like I said, putting together a mill I have never seen running.
How far would I have to go to see one running or on display.

Interesting on those models, because most mills (looking from the front of the wheel) when they spin CW, the tail furls to the right. CCW, and the tail furls to the left. On these, with the CW spin, the tail furls to the left. Someone eventually changed it, because the 502, 602 and 702 mills furl "normal". ( to the right)

I have one up and running. I need to go out this week and grease it and I can take some pictures. There is a rod that goes down the center of the mast pipe that's attached to the top of the mill (you can see it in the photo). There is a rod attached to the tail in the bottom picture that's about 8" long. When you pull the rod the big cast piece rotates which makes the vertical piece in the picture go from about the 7:00 position to the 3-4:00 position pulling the tail to the right. All of this is tied in with the brake.

Once a week under regular pumping use. For show, leave it off most of the time, or run it real slow.
