Keeping the Aura Going

The comment by WindyBob ("Hope you younger guys and gals can fill them shoes and keep this historic aura going.") ties right in with the past few weeks for me.
Two young gals [ Anna and Sarah D. ] buy hay from me for their 3 horses. Both are nurses. Anna sheepishly asked me about welding and wrenching "stuff" because she bought a tractor and enjoys "fixing things up" to use a s implements on their horse farm. Didn't take long to ask about a windmill for their place to supply water for Sarah's food plot/garden.
I located a Baker No.3 direct stroke motor in Ohio and had a tail and an 8' fan to mount on it. Came with pieces from 3 towers that never got completed. Well, it sure didn't take long for her to to grab all her tools and confidence, and, with my guidance, get it all together and standing up and running beautifully. No other experience, but she sure has a knack for wrenching. Amazing. Absolutely amazing. I took my lift over to their ranch in Stockbridge and she rode it up, dug the holes, set the tower, built a platform, and installed the pump rod and pole. It will certainly be a landmark in that area. I have no fear that this talented 'youngster' will carry the torch into the future. Her favorite color is Ford Cobalt Blue, so it goes without saying ...
