Re: LeJay Wind Charger
Very observant…The ad is not the exact model but it’s close. Mine is identical to the one shown in detail in one of the LeJay DYI catalogs. It made reproducing the missing parts much easier. Btw, those sweeping curves in the 3/4” angle were a bitch.

Re: Temple Texas Engine & Tractor Show
Only the Streamliner was upright for the trip. I like the rigging challenge. Generator weighs about 300lb and stub tower is 6’.

Temple Texas Engine & Tractor Show
Temple, Oct 4,2025
Displayed a few wind chargers at the show. Got a lot of looks going down the highway with the big Streamliner sitting up that high. Huge crowd this year.

LeJay Wind Charger
Recently completed this side vane governing, LeJay wind charger. LeJay was a 1930s/40s mail order company that rebranded many of the wind electric plants they sold….similar to JC Whitney if you remember them. They also sold plans and parts for DYIers. This one was available as complete unit or as ...

Etzikom Windmill Museum
Peter’s post inspired me to share a few photos from the Etzikom Windmill Museum in Etzikom, Alberta. My wife and I visited the museum in late August.

Re: Mystery machines
It is a LeJay. This one has a side vane to turn the generator out of the wind rather than a Wincharger type air brake. Since my original post I found it to be plan #31 in the LeJay Manual where it gives all the details on how to build from scratch or buy the castings from LeJay. Could be they ...

Looking for a Ruralite tail vane
Looking for a Ruralite tail, sheet metal only works or entire machine. These were sold by other distributors so could have “Fairbanks Morse” or “Emjay” for tail graphics. Any leads appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Roof mounted 32 volt winchargers?
Thanks for sharing the advertisement. I’ll see what I can find on winding specs. Here’s an interesting drawing that shows how the tail was trimmed for the Ward or Sears machine options. The 1000W also had a large Wincharger tail that was trimmed. Maybe you’ve seen the interesting paddle governors ...
