Thanks everyone for the great information. I disassembled it as soon as I got it home but now other projects have gotten in the way. Planning to get back on it in a few days. And yes, I definitely want to use it on a well.

The only good thing about low hanging Mesquite limbs, is 90% if them you can cut off standing on the ground.

On my Baker Monitor platform, I used 2x12 treated. I lap jointed the corners and used a roundover router bit on all edges. It's nice and strong and will hopefully last for years. I've never seen or maybe noticed anything like that in Texas either. I have seen cell towers decorated like trees when traveling in Colorado so maybe there is something to finding loop holes with the local regulations.
