Re: Aermtotor color
I can tell you that I’ve had MUCH better luck, from a durability standpoint, using Rustoleum RUSTY METAL red oxide primer, vs. regular “run of the mill” red oxide primer. Holds up more like a paint, than regular primer (when not topcoated). Can’t speak for the color “match”. Take that for what it’s w ...

Re: Sucker rod
What size is your drop pipe?? There are charts on the internet that’ll tell you how much volume per foot, a certain pipe size holds. Figure out how many gallons in 265’ (Actually, you’ll be deeper, since you’re gonna go at least 20-30’ below your static, I would guess)of that pipe. Also calculate the ...

Re: Sucker rod
I thought the ones I saw were either ash, or fiberglass. There MIGHT be some for 7/16” steel, but are you talking about 3/4” STEEL (or fiberglass)?? I’d think that would be awfully heavy?? (Wouldn’t 3/4” steel be oilfield sucker rod??)

Re: Pump rod/swivel play
IMG_8838.MOV And THIS is probably why this (threaded) design isn’t used, now. If you don’t tighten the heck out of it, it unscrews itself after one week (swivels easily, but think the up/down started working its magic…). Oh well, another trip up the tower. If it does it, again, I’ll switch over to t ...

Re: Threading 7/16 galvanized rod
May be a silly question, but humor a “newbie”. What would be the indication/benefits of using steel rod vs. fiberglass rod (or vice versa)? Weight? Cost? Durability? Thanks! Neat stuff!

Re: Don’s Windmills
As a “final” (sorta) follow up, my furl handle arrived on Saturday (it was drop-shipped from Wind Engine in Laredo, since Dean Bennett didn’t have it on hand). So—ordered late Sunday night. Cylinder and extra leathers arrived Wednesday. Furl handle (which required drop-shipping from another location) ...
