Re: Roof mounted 32 volt winchargers?

Thanks for the print Mike; I did some searching online, I couldn't find a 1940 Montgomery Wards catalog but I did find the spring/summer 1940 SEARS catalog. It looks like these 300w plants were only advertised for one year, 1939 and 1941 catalogs only list the 500w and 1000w plants. I suspect they ...

Roof mounted 32 volt winchargers?

Hello all,

I have heard a couple times about the existence of a 300w 32 volt Wincharger plant (model 65?). I would imagine they are pretty much identical to the early Heavy Duty 6 and 12 volt plants with the 10 foot four leg roof mounted tower. I have never seen any photos or advertisement pages ...

Farm Lighting Battery rebuild

Hi all,

Recently I found a good set of farm lighting cells I plan to rebuild for use in my 12 volt lighting plant. They are Globe-Lite 21 plate 450 AH cells; originally locally made. The fellow had 10 left over from a 32 volt system which was located in the basement of a collapsed farmhouse. Of the ...

Re: Glass 'Farm Lighting' battery cells

Update: I found a fellow with 10 Globe-Lite 450AH cells locally. 5 of them had broken lids but one was good enough shape to use. Now I just need to figure out how to rebuild them.

Re: Is this a Project? My Newly Found 32v Wincharger

Sandxssun it's nice to see you found this forum, we spoke briefly on Facebook but I'll answer you here.
That's a nice early wincharger, I had seen the ad on marketplace but it was too far away for me to purchase the unit. It looks like you have the slip-ring assembly and lolly-shaft, so it should ...

6 Volt christmas lights

Merry Christmas everybody, I thought you all would like to see something else that was powered by the wind chargers and small gas engine plants... Christmas lights! I have heard from several people about the existence of battery Christmas lights, and final did find an example in an 1942 catalog ...

Re: Model 1215 Streamliner documents?

I've been talking privately to another collector about purchasing some parts, he has a couple spare tails for a model 85 and a homemade mounting bracket. He also has some parts for the heavy duty model and I thought I should be able to piece together a model 1215 from the parts. I don't know if he ...

Model 1215 Streamliner documents?

Well now that I might have a line on some parts to put together a "franken-charger" 1215 streamliner I would like to find some documentation, mainly a parts list and diagram, maybe a blueprint if its available? Something else that would be nice is testing/performance data or specifications, I did ...

Re: Wincharger 1222H vs. 12 Volt Streamliner

mtblah, I did see the David Ballinger collection in Iowa, not sure where the other one is though? The major issue is distance, I did have a fellow (Larry Vernazza) contact me through one of my Facebook 'wanted' ads about his collection for sale close to San Francisco, but again, the time and cost of ...

Glass 'Farm Lighting' battery cells

I am looking for a matching set of 6 or more glass farm lighting cells of about 250 ampere hours to rebuild. At least one, ideally 2 pilot cells with hydrometer balls would be included in the set. Must have crack-free glass jar and lid, terminal posts, connector straps, and vent plugs. The condition ...
