Last week a friend showed me some windmill pictures to ID. It was a Baker Monitor WB. Lots of them sold by Axtell Company.

Re: Worlds Fair Windmills

Remember you never missed what you never had. I didn't live in a house with running water until 5th grade> First air conditioner was a swamp cooler maybe came in the 7 or 8th. The only thing I really wanted was a pair of Levis. I had the JC Penny Penncraft jeans. They didn't look as cool as Levis.

Re: Worlds Fair Windmills

Thanks Paul love those photos. I never had seen that they had what is called a Smock Mill in the 3rd photo to the left. The one with the big 4 big sails. I think about the the erecting and taking down, what a monster task that must have been.

Re: Eclipse in South Texas

Could Be! A guy on the site where I saw it said they were oil burners. That's what the tank behind the smoke stack is. An oil tank. I've looked at a lot of steam engines and don't remember seeing another with a tank in that position before.

You can count me among the steam nuts. I have 2, a small portable and a model of a 2 cylinder. No boiler, have to run them one air.
