Windmill ID help

Have a part you can't identify? Did your parts get mixed up in the shop? Curious if that chunk of metal is a part you should keep? Not sure what kind of windmill or tower you have? Post photos of the mystery object here for the community to help identify.

Found this from FB. Seems to have a similar twist in the spokes to your photos. You may be right on the Rex Jr.

No question now “Rex Junior” and the 2nd weight is used to balance sucker rod weight. Thank you all for your help.

Yes, there’s several Rex catalogs out there. The 1902 is available on line but apparently the Junior model wasn’t introduced until 1903/1904 so you have to find the later catalogs. I was able to find a copy at one of the museums you had listed.

Glad it worked out.!

I think Jim Koch restored a Rex mill. They were made in Anderson, close to his home town. There is a friend of mine here that was raised in Anderson. It's a small world sometimes.

Yes it is. When you rattled off the locations of the Rex catalogs, a light bulb went off and I realized I had the same T Lindsey resource. What a great book that is. Thanks again for your help.
