Train to Lamar

Post by Ken O'Brock »

I decided to take a train to Lamar. AMTRAK stops within 10 miles of here. 1:35 AM going out and 3:45 AM coming back. There's a small glass room near the tracks to get out of the weather until the train stops at the platform. It seems like almost all trains go to Union Station in Chicago. Then a 6 hour layover before getting on one of the trains heading to points west. This one will stop at the platform in Lamar at 6:45 AM. Then what? There doesn't seem to be any car rentals in Lamar. Or Lyft or Uber or taxi. It's a 1 mile walk to the hotel from the platform. Another adventure.

That's alright. It'll still be less stressful and safer that driving 1,300 miles.

Ken, if you are talking about next summer for the trade fair, there will be enough people around to get you where you need to be.

Sounds like a great adventure Ken. Man I'd like to do that. I'll be by myself so would have plenty of room to haul you around while we are there.
