I have watched different vids on how wind turbines are erected and found them very interesting. Wind turbines do have a life and evidently not only is the turbine removed but also the tower.
In August of this year, 21 wind turbines on 385' towers were decommissioned in 2 days and removed in TX. This might be SOP in TX for wind turbine removal but curious if this method of removal is used elsewhere?

Re: What goes up, comes down
What do they do with all the tons of super heavy fiberglass when they take those things down? Landfill? ocean? burn? Bury?

Seen photos of the blades being buried in the desert

I think these decommissioned turbines will be replaced by newer higher output turbines. If you notice they blast cut the tower a few feet above the base. I’m thinking they will remove the tower base remnants and install new tower with turbine. Can’t say I’m 100% correct on this but given these are the more modern turbines and towers I bet they still want to use the infrastructure and install newer models. Hopefully they upgrade with heated blades for winter use (I think these are in Texas).

Here is a video I ran across deling with the used turbine blades. Interesting. ( If the link works.) Of course ther's an ad or two at the start.

There is a place about 20 miles from here where they piled up about 400 wind turbine blades. They have what looks like a giant saw blade on the end of a track hoe boom and cut the blades into smaller pieces. Hauling them to Tennessee to recycle. Heard they are grinding them up to add to concrete.
