clean out PM box

Paul , I am not smart enough to figure out how to clean out some of the 100 PM 's that are in my box .
I can not receive any messages . How do I reduce that quanity ?

Mike: Put a checkmark in the box to the right of the message, then click on the dropdown at the bottom to delete those you have checkmarked.

The only issue with doing that , is like cleaning out your garage, You keep stuff around forever, when you get rid of it, guess what you need next week......

I followed the picture instructions , and , deleted a page worth of year old PM's

Now i have several PM written and in the "out box " but cannot figure out how to send !
What am i doing wrong or missed ?
