Does that mean it's 13% tin?

If a person has an oil field supply anywhere close, they have babbitt. I bought a few pounds at a place some time ago.

6% tin
10% antimony
1/4 % arsenic
balance is lead
brinell hardness 19.0
tensile strengeth 10,200 psi
elongation on break 5%
melting temp 460 degrees
pouring temp 620 degrees
thats all I know
Kapp has lots of other grades of babbit for high speed applications , etc . every grade of babbitt has different quanities of chemicals , all depends on what a person wants to do with it .

Today I fitted , shaved babbitt to fit the drive shafts , making things pretty , yah I know , its going to be 30 ft up in the air . Some of us just go overboard on restotation , preservation .
This one with lubrication will last another 100 years . I am going to hand the owner a set of directions on oiling !
