Dandy

Generally speaking, this area is for general discussion about windmills, in most cases.

Dandy

Post by Peter vk »

I did some work on somebodies windmill and found this way back in the bush, it was partially buried in the dirt. I was surprised when we got it out that it wasn't all rotted on the bottom. Got it home and fixed it up, it's going to be a wall hanger. It's off of at least a 12 footer maybe even a 14 footer, it's almost the same size as the one behind it which is a 14 footer. It says Dandy the Windmotor co Limited, Woodstock Ont.

No I don't know much about them. I think they sold the American made Challenge Dandy. That tail is the only thing I have found from them.

From what I found they started in the 1890s into the early 1900s. They also made two other mills the WINDPOWER and the WOODSTOCK both in pumping and power mills. Pretty cool!!!
