Jason did you find any paint on your mill? I'm thinking they were black.

Unfortunately I didn't notice any scars of remaining paint. When the weather here warms I could take a magnifying glass and have a better look.

Jason where the top brace of your tailbone hooks on the mill is there a cast piece or does the angle iron hook directly to the mill ? Thanks.

There's no hinge on the bar steel top member of the tailbone. The forked area on the end just pins to the main frame. I used a 7/16" clevis pin.
