Woodmanse

Generally speaking, this area is for general discussion about windmills, in most cases.

One of the few to have a serial number tag and they don't put the model num even tho there's a spot for it. Makes me wonder if Woodmanse bought them from another manufacture and stuck a tag on it with there name. In the gas engine world that was done a lot. Nobody seemed to mind the builder sold an engine and the next guy sold an engine.

A guy just sent me a pix of a A Y McDonald mill that was made by Woodmanse, It was called a Super Oiled and has a mailbox bonnet. Research tells me that McDonald out of Dubuque, Iowa sold them.
