Aermotor A-702 Missing Something

Post by 702Fan »

I picked up this mail in Kansas a few days ago. I noticed that the mast pipe base was broken into corners so I removed it. The shaft at the top looks smaller than the hole in the gearbox. Besides the top nut for the mast, am I missing something like a sleeve?

It looks like the mast pipe is for a 6' mill (X702). Yours is an 8' (A702). You'll need a mast pipe for an 8'.

Also, doesn't look like you have an Aermotor stub section at the top of the tower. You'll need to get one so that the mast pipe is properly secured to the tower.

Does the mast base X/A 674 fit both 6’ & 8’ mast pipe?
The dimensions of my mast pipe is 1.140” at the top, 1.910” before the neck and larges and 2.383 inches in the lower section.

X/A-674 is pipe base only. The lower pipe diameter is common for the X and A. The pipe tops are a different diameter tho. You currently have an X-661-1/2 mast pipe assembly. You need an A-661-1/2 assembly.

Looks like you may also have the X609 furl lever for the six footer. You need the A609 for the 8' mill.
