every thing shows very little wear , cleaned up nicely .

Bearings look good Micheal i would also check the oil passage for debris but I'm sure you probably already did.

I completed the A602 rebuild last weekend. The babbit was all good and very little wear. Previously straightened the wheel.

Replaced the bottom 3/16 rod on the vane.

New main shaft, different hub. The old hub had the frozen water cracked syndrome.

Reassembled. I left the oil flipper as I don’t currently have a plan to put it back up on the trussed tripod tower.

Looks good Micheal those gears appear to be in good shape not to many miles on them!!

Michael , did that top cover nut come with your 602 or did you machine a new replacement ?

It had a brass stud and a regular rusty hex nut. That is a Dakota top cover nut and stud as well as a Dakota main shaft.
