Wincharger Streamliner

Post by Wind Charger Mike »

I finished this project back in December. I had posted pics on a FB group.

Background info..
Largest Streamliner mfg by Wincharger, ca1939. They made at least 11 different Streamliner models. The model 260 was available in 32V and 110V, both direct current. Max power about 2kW and 260kW-hr/month. 450lbs on tower, 10’ long, 16” diameter, 4-pole generator, 12’ Douglas Fir prop, 60” stainless steel airbrake governor. In 1939, complete setup with 55 glass jar batteries would have set you back over $1000….not many produced and very few still around.

I think you should have a local Texas Trade Fair at your location , ( not quite ranch size , but more land than us city dwellers have ) good central location with LOTS of cool stuff and some amazing engineering going on within those walls , just my thought Mike .
Oh yah , within walking distance to the new billion dollar chip plant .

Appreciate the kind words Mike….That would be the Samsung $18B chip plant. It’s 10 miles north of here but it does light up the sky at night. Then there’s Elon’s place 15 miles south. We’re surrounded. I’ll keep the visits informal and anyone’s welcome.

It is musuem quality inside that building , and , everything you have displayed is musuem quality , worth experiencing . and the windcharger book you will eventually publish is also a GREAT undertaking ! Just saying . Look at the floor coating as an example ,
Note to eveyone else , if your ever in the Austin TX area contact Mike , he's a great host . "My opinion and I'm sticking to it "
