Acidic water

The pH of my well water is 5.6. It is tough on the galvanized pipe (see pictures). After some advice from some on here, I put down schedule 80 PVC with threaded ends and stainless steel couplings. To keep the water away from the sucker rod ends (fiberglass rods), I covered them with adhesive shrink tubing. We will see if this protects the ends from rusting/pitting. Sucker rod guides have about 0.3" of play inside of a galvanized pipe. Turned them down to have the same amount of play in the thicker schedule 80 pipe.
