Section parts ID

Have a part you can't identify? Did your parts get mixed up in the shop? Curious if that chunk of metal is a part you should keep? Not sure what kind of windmill or tower you have? Post photos of the mystery object here for the community to help identify.

Section parts ID

Post by wmswindmiller »

In digging through my great-grandfather's stash of windmill parts, there are a few pieces that have me stumped. Anyone know the windmill to which these section castings belong?
(Of course I only have 5 sets!)

It is the wheel hardware to a wooden bladed mill. The long bar is what is commonly called the dog bone and the other two pieces are attached to the ends of the long slotted boards. The other two are usually referred to as the wheel clips. All three pieces go on the Beaty (Canada} or the Duplex (US) vaneless wooden bladed mill. Like you said. You only have 5 sets. The 10 foot mill requires 6.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
