Gears coated with DFL coating (Gray) and non friction surfaces coated with oil wicking coating(Silver).
Jake,
For one of the uninformed, would you mind giving a short tutorial on the two coatings? Appears to be something for which I might have an interest.

Thanks in advance,
Jim
Jim,
I’m working on getting you more information on these coating as they are industrial coatings they don’t have the same marketing behind them. I have used the DFL on internal engine bearings with great success. And the non stick coating on piston rods to lower rotating resistance with in turn increases HP.
Thanks,
Jake

This paint is awesome but I have to admit it is a little shinny for and old windmill.

A few more worn items that I’ll be machining new. The pins in the dog bones were in there tight they took 45 tons to press them out. Before they started moving I thought they might be threaded because they were so tight.

The tower is set. Now I just need to tighten the tension rods and it’s complete. The final slab specs are 13 ft deep 18” piers on each corner with a 30”x18” beam tying the corners together. I used 10 yards of concrete or 40,500 pounds of concrete.
