Re: Sears Windmills
Wow, I never realized that sears sold Albion (Wolcott & Union) and Smith & Pomeroy windmills.
Windy - Are you saying these were sold under the Sears Name? Or that they just sold the brands in their catalogue?

Re: Sears Windmills
They offered these brands through their catalogs. I could go back and see what names they used, I didn't pay much attention to that. The "green book" does get more specific. Look under Sears and Roebuck. It gives the complete list in historic order. I would say Chronological order, but I can't spell chronological. lol

Re: Sears Windmills
What is this Green Book people write about that seems to have so much neat info?
Re: Sears Windmills
It is T. Lindsays book for all the trade literature found on the windmill history. I think there was a picture I posted a long time ago. Covers are darker green, like Hunter green. It's great reading, especially on days where you can't, ( or won't ) go out.

Re: Sears Windmills
Do you know if it is still available? I'm always looking for good stuff to read.
Re: Sears Windmills
I don't know. I might check later. I think the last time someone looked it up, it was quite expensive.

I think Bob is talking about Dr. Baker’s book “North American Windmill Manufacturers' Trade Literature : A Descriptive Guide”
A very hard book to find.
