Need direction on how to connect the mill to the pump.

Pictures or advise.

Yes my F.E. Meyers pump has the square shaft.
I can hang a 3/8 rod from the mill.

How do I make a slick connection that will allow for service.
I could envision a pin that when pulled would disconnect the mill from the pump.
While everything slips but stays aligned for reconnection.

Do you have the pump rod with working swivel installed on the head? If so, from there down it's up to you, but part of it should be wood. The wood will break should the something seize in the downhole string, saving the mill.

There are different ways to connect to the hand pump.
Here's how I connect to the pump.

In a previous post you asked about how the flat bar is secured at the top of the pump. Here's a couple of pics. The guide is usually keyed some way to prevent it from rotating and pulling out.

If you release from the pump shaft dose the part dangle, and move with the mill.

Also like how the part allows for adjustment in overall length.
I used a similar part on the other end of my 2*2, just doesn't have the clamping bolt.

Length is set by the length of the connected wood pole. I suppose you could redrill the flat bar. My flat bar had an existing hole for this purpose.

Picked up on eBay. I'm sure there are other ways to hook up.
