Shattuck OK Earthquake
Any damage from the earthquake in Shattuck?
Re: Shattuck OK Earthquake
Didn't know there was one. Had not heard anything on tv. We usually have several small ones a month.
Call Dan Benjamin for parts. P M me for the phone number. IF YOU TALK TO HIM, AND HE HELPS YOU, THEN BUY FROM HIM. IT CREATES GOOD KARMA.

4.1 and deep. Not very long in time or much ground acceleration. By California standards, it was a nonevent.
But, for Shattuck, I bet it was a big deal.
Uncle Carl would say, “Earthquake’s are like a divorce, the closer you are to the epicenter the much stronger the event feels.” Carl would also say, “The first one is always the biggest. After a few you just roll over and try to go back to sleep and forget about the sound of pots and pans hitting the floor and doors slamming.” I am not sure if that was about quakes or divorces.
Social etiquette dictates the following post-quake decorum:
I feel the earth move under my feet by Carole King is the official song of the day.
“Did you feel it” is a USGS website to report your experience, it is not a phrase to say to women you don’t know.
If someone ask how you are, the only correct answer is, “I’m fine but a little shaken.”

I was staying in a motel 1984 in Escondido. Was waken by my bed shaking thought a fat woman was trying to wake me up. It stopped, after I figured out I was alone went back to sleep.
